banner DEVELOPMENT OF A PERFORMANCE EVALUATION FRAMEWORK IN PUBLIC HEALTH CLINICS 2025Access to healthcare is a fundamental human right. Yet health systems worldwide, including Malaysia's, face mounting pressure to provide quality care with finite resources. This burden falls heavily on primary care or public health clinics, the first line of defense for community health. When primary care struggles, the effects ripple through the entire system, leading to overburdened hospitals, delayed treatments, and poorer health outcomes for everyone.

Evaluating the efficiency of primary care in Malaysia is critical but inherently complex. The absence of standardized performance metrics makes it difficult to compare clinic efficiency across diverse regions and clinic types. Additionally, the breadth of services offered, ranging from preventive care to chronic disease management, presents a challenge in establishing a comprehensive evaluation framework. Disparities in infrastructure and resource availability further complicate accurate assessments.

This project aims to thoroughly analyze Malaysia's public health clinics, identifying the factors that influence performance and highlighting areas for improvement. The insights derived from this analysis will inform targeted interventions to optimize resource allocation and enhance service delivery. Ultimately, this will lead to better healthcare outcomes and a more sustainable system.

By strengthening primary care, this project supports Malaysia's healthcare reforms, encouraging a shift towards preventive care and informed decision-making. This ensures every Malaysian has access to timely and effective healthcare they deserve. Investing in primary care is investing in the well-being of our nation, upholding the right to quality healthcare for all.
