CALL FOR APPLICATIONS: NIPPON SHEET GLASS FOUNDATION OVERSEAS RESEARCH GRANT 2027
The Nippon Sheet Glass Foundation (NSGF) for Materials Science and Engineering has officially opened applications for its Overseas Research Grant. This funding opportunity supports fundamental and applied research projects in the Science and Technology of Inorganic Materials, including amorphous and crystalline solid materials as well as inorganic-organic hybrid technologies. Last year Cycle, NSGF received 44 applications from USM, and three (3) of our researchers were successfully awarded this research grant.
We encourage all eligible academic staff and researchers in relevant fields to explore this grant opportunity to support their innovative research projects.
Grant Overview & Key Details
· Scope: Any research project related to the Science and Technology of Inorganic Materials (including inorganic-organic hybrid technologies).
· Funding Amount: USD2,000 - USD6,000 per project.
· Project Duration: 12 to 24 months (commencing January 2027 through December 2027 or December 2028).
Action Required
Interested applicants are required to prepare and submit the following documents:
1. Completed “Application for Research Grant” form in English (maximum 4 pages).
2. Recommendation letter from RCMO.
3. Updated Curriculum Vitae (CV).
4. Reprints of representative published research papers.
Important Deadlines
· Hard Copy Submission to NSG Foundation: Wednesday, September 30, 2026
· Selection Announcement: December 2026
· Disbursement of Funds: January 2027
