CALL FOR APPLICATIONS : UL RESEARCH INSTITUTES–ASEAN-U.S. SCIENCE PRIZE FOR WOMEN 2026

With reference to the above-mentioned matter and the email trail below from the ASEAN Secretariat.

The call for applications for the UL Research Institutes–ASEAN-U.S. Science Prize for Women 2026 has recently been launched under the theme: “AI for Advancing Inclusive and Resilient Healthcare in ASEAN”.

This year's competition aims to spotlight innovative research that merges knowledge, data, healthcare advancement and artificial intelligence (AI) to provide real solutions to regional health issues while promoting collaboration, equity and resilience across the ASEAN healthcare ecosystem. The goal is to push forward science, technology and innovation that help create healthier, more inclusive and sustainable communities in the area. The award emphasises the need to utilise new technologies and AI to improve healthcare accessibility, strengthen health system readiness, support underserved communities and enhance resilience against future public health challenges.

The competition is open to women scientists from the 11 ASEAN Member States who hold a doctoral degree in a field relevant to this year’s theme. Eligible applicants will compete under the following categories:

The winner of each category will receive USD12,500, while the runner-up in each category will receive USD5,000. Finalists will also be invited to participate in the final judging session and attend the official award ceremony, which is scheduled to be held in conjunction with the ASEAN Committee on Science, Technology and Innovation (ASEAN COSTI) meetings in Viet Nam in October 2026.

In view of the short application period, your kind cooperation is sought to urgently disseminate this call for applications to eligible women scientists under your respective purview.
