Dear YBhg. Datuk/Dato’/Prof./Assoc. Prof/Dr./Sir/Madam,

We are pleased to announce that the application for the BWF Sport Science Research Grant 2025/26 is now open and will close on 31 May 2025. This grant, generously sponsored by the Badminton World Federation (BWF) and aims to support scientific research pertaining to the sport of badminton. Eligible research topics include, but are not limited to, performance analysis, physiology, psychology, injury prevention, and sport development.

GRANT INFORMATION:

  • Application Opens: 1 April 2025
  • Application Deadline: 31 May 2025
  • Grant Amount: Up to USD 8,000 per project
  • Research Duration: Up to 14 months
  • Eligibility: Postgraduate students, academics, researchers, or institutions with relevant qualifications

RESEARCH THEMES:

  • Physical & psychological performance in badminton across genders and disciplines
  • Impact of tournament structures on athlete development
  • Coaching science and structured warm-up programs
  • Research involving Para badminton and Special Olympics athletes
  • Analysis of national badminton high-performance systems

REQUIRED DOCUMENTS:

2.    Endorsement Letter – from the academic institution or a BWF Member Association

3.    Detailed Budget – with a full breakdown and justification
